anybody must concur, with grave sadness- and anger- that there is nothing but darkness in Thailand's future... re X's rearrival in Germany, BILD had a piece on it, and they mocked Vajinalongkorn (sic intentional, of course) relentlessly, repeatedly showing pix of his crop top shopping escapade, his coronation, and his FuFu the air marshall...

Good work, Andrew.

It's amazing how little climate change features in Thai politics. It's one of the hottest countries in the world, frequently affected by floods, droughts and heatwaves. Many of its beautiful beaches are set to be lost or diminished due to rising sea levels, and its economy relies heavily on climate-sensitive agriculture and long-haul aviation tourism. The country is at risk of being virtually uninhabitable by the end of the century in worst case scenarios.

Democracy activists should focus protests on Germany. Germany should not be allowing a dictator to reside in luxury in Bavaria, exploiting his workforce. Furthermore, German police should be thoroughly investigating the international assassinations of Thai democracy activists regardless of whether they are able to prosecute the culprits. Instead they are making backroom deals to help Vajinalongkorn avoid tax just to cream off a little of his money.

For the last several years Thailand has been relying on Chinese tourists to massively boost their tourism figures. I now live and work in China after 25 years in Thailand. Leaving China for a holiday is easy. Returning is not so easy. Three weeks expensive quarantine - 4 weeks in some places. Very few potential Chinese tourists are going to consider a 7 day holiday (which is what most Chinese can reasonably take from work) if that holiday stretches to 4-5 weeks absence from their work.

It is sad to see and know that the one who is in change spend all his time in a foreign country while he let prosecute the people who pay for it and want to change. In every country the law like section 112 are or were reviewed. We don't live anymore in the tie of Anna and the King and they must do something before things will happen as in 1789.
